As I draw nearer to finally being creative again, I find myself distracted by backends. Not the fun kind either – I’m talking about the behind the curtain bits of how websites work. Doing my usual trick of working backwards, I realised that I can’t possibly start filming videos until I have a website ready to link them together. So after several days of hair-pulling, I finally managed to sort out the SSL certificates and get my website back up and running.
And so I find myself looking at a mostly empty website, all set to promote the mostly empty channels that house a tiny fraction of my creative works. And what makes this time any different from previous attempts to dust off old websites and get things moving? Well, frankly nothing… only the hope that I’ve learned enough from burning out to know how to not do it again.
The first post I made since resurrecting the site was about coming out from under the desk. To illustrate it, I got AI to alter a photo of me to make it look like I was climbing out from under the desk. So now I’ll make one where I’m pulling cables out from under there too!
I actually deleted a post that was here that was showcasing my ‘AI Art’, cos my feelings about that medium have changed in the three years since then. So I’ll be using AI enhanced images for future posts, but won’t be having it create anything from scratch.
Bit of a ramble, but the main thing was that I didn’t want to only have one new post before losing interest and forgetting about this website for another 3 years!
